Beginners Bonsai Course Overview

Celebrating over 15 years as our most popular offering, the Beginners Bonsai Course is an intensive, one-day workshop designed to immerse you in the art of bonsai. This course suits novices yet remains a valuable learning experience for more seasoned enthusiasts, blending theoretical knowledge and practical skills.

Course Modules

101:Bonsai Culture and Care

You will be introduced to bonsai, its origins and evolution, and our nine-point bonsai care program. You will learn the basics of locating your bonsai, proper watering and feeding, and housekeeping tasks that will keep your bonsai healthy and vibrant.

102: Styling Bonsai - Pruning With Intent

Bonsai need regular and timely pruning and shaping. You will learn when and how to prune and style your bonsai while keeping them healthy, vibrant and beautiful. We explore available bonsai techniques while being sensitive to the bonsai’s ecological and horticultural needs.

103: Stressfree Bonsai Repotting

Discover the signs that your bonsai needs repotting and learn the correct approach. The module includes an introduction to soil science, repotting techniques, and methodologies to ensure successful, stress-free repotting.

Course Format

Each module is structured into a lecture segment and a hands-on practice session, allowing you to immediately apply what you've learned. This format is designed to help you meet and anticipate the needs of your bonsai, ensuring its long-term health and vitality.

Dates and Times

The course runs from 10 am to 5 pm.

Fees

The course fee is £150, and a non-refundable booking fee of £50 is due upon registration. The remaining £100 is payable on or before the day of the course. To

General Information

Tea and coffee will be provided throughout the day. Participants are advised to bring a packed lunch. Sessions will occur indoors and outdoors, so please dress appropriately for London's changeable weather, preferably in layers.
